Strategic & Business Insights Associate

The incumbent is accountable to analyze market forecast data from various sources (ig. Field area, distribution channel, customer, competitor) to find out market performance and trends to meet business strategies, provide competitive analysis to find out the most suitable program, consolidate market data to provide competitive analysis, execute market insight framework to identify consumer variables (ig. Segmentation, panels, etc.). 

 

As the Strategic & Business Insights Associate, you will: 

Business Insights & Planning

Identify and evaluate opportunities to drive revenue for new product features and new offerings reflecting competitive position and value generated by calculating the VMC modelling and Tax modelling.Conduct market sizing/opportunity studies to identify and monitor new growth segments or categories.Capture and analyze market and competitor financial data and report to provide selected information to internal stakeholders, conduct analysis of competitor base pricing to identify potential areas of opportunity for pricing adjustments.

Industry Insight & Product Innovation

Analyze industry trends through the study of new product launches, product innovation, emerging market trends to reach informed conclusions on new product launches.Monitor non-core adjacent products such as Reduced Risk Products (RRP) and Other Tobacco Products (OTP) in order to tap into emerging commercial opportunities.Monitor the cost of raw materials (such as tobacco, clove, Non-tobacco materials - NTM) and labour cost - Regional minimum wage in order to model and forecast competitor Variable Manufacturing Costs (VMC).

Market Insights and Decision Support

Oversees survey to find out market performance and maintain retailer panels to generate area-specific, field-based market insights.Aggregate various data sources using GIS and identify high potential areas to support the investment targeting.Optimizing analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations to support business planning process, ensuring that there is a thorough understanding of the field area, distribution channels, customers, and competitors by utilising and integrating all available sources.

Consumer Insights

Identify relevant consumer segments for JTI in the market.Support the building a consumer-centric organisation.Conduct research process using traditional methodologies both quantitative and qualitative.

Agile Player

Act as an implementor for agile culture.Involve in agile projects and resource planning within timeline and budgets, work closely and engage with teams to establish an environment that is motivating, entrepreneurial in nature and instill a sense of empowerment among the team

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Economics or MathsProven experience in data analytics and market insights, with a strong background in the FMCG or tobacco sectorsFluent in English (both speaking and writing)
