IF YOU ARE

Experienced Python software engineer or data engineer with 2+ years of experienceSkilled in Python for scripting and data manipulationProficient in working with JSON data and SQL databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQLFamiliar with ETL concepts and tools, including SQLAlchemy, pandas, or direct SQL queriesComfortable using Git and running scripts in cloud environmentsKnowledgeable in basic API usage, including requests and httpx, as well as Docker and simple cloud VM setupAware of data validation techniques, such as counts and referential checksOrganized in coding style and confident working independentlyPractical-minded and focused on delivering results with minimal overheadConfident in maintaining daily communication with English-speaking software engineers on the client side at an intermediate English levelFamiliar with CMS platforms and content object models (would be a plus)Knowledgeable in Brightspot or similar CMS exports (would be a plus)Experienced in building data loaders using REST or GraphQL APIs (would be a plus)Familiar with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect, and simple job scheduling (would be a plus)Skilled in using containers such as Docker and setting up basic cloud instances for running jobs (would be a plus)Aware of performance tuning techniques for bulk data loads, including COPY in Postgres and batching (would be a plus)

Analyze Brightspot object/JSON structures and existing relations in MySQLPropose a mapping to the new CMS schemaConnect to and read data from the MySQL snapshot.Parse and transform JSON blobs into the new simplified schemaLoad data into Postgres via SQL or basic API endpointsHandle basic relationships between objects (parent/child, references)Run validation checks (record counts, sample comparisons)Log progress and errors for traceabilityDocument the process and provide a simple run bookFoster clear communication and productive collaboration with backend/CMS engineers and stakeholders throughout the migration process
