Job Overview
Under the direct supervision of the WPE Coordinator, the Women’s Empowerment and Community Resilience Officer provides operational, administrative, and coordination support to the Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program. The Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth implementation of program activities through effective procurement and inventory management, accurate documentation and reporting, and active engagement with local governance structures. This role supports the establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships at the community level and facilitates joint planning, implementation, and monitoring of initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s resilience and empowerment. The Officer coordinates regular communication with stakeholders, supports the organization of trainings, forums, and workshops, and ensures the timely distribution and handover of equipment and program materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Empowerment and Engagement
Design, plan, and implement community-based activities focused on the empowerment of women and girls, in alignment with the Women’s Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program strategy.Facilitate safe, inclusive, and participatory spaces that promote the resilience and leadership of women and adolescent girls, including through structured and unstructured sessions.Lead the development and delivery of life skills, rights awareness, and community engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening social cohesion and reducing gender-based violence (GBV) risks.Coordinate with local stakeholders (civil society, government, service providers) to promote community-led initiatives that enhance women’s access to protection and recovery services.Support the integration of gender equality, protection, and inclusion principles across all activities, ensuring meaningful participation of women and marginalized groups.Monitor and document activities, success stories, and challenges; contribute to program reporting, assessments, and learning exercises.Provide technical input and support capacity building of community mobilizers, peer educators, and women-led groups.Ensure safeguarding, ethical engagement, and adherence to protection principles in all interactions with program participants.Facilitate joint planning and coordination of activities such as trainings, forums, and workshops with local authorities.Prepare, review, and formalize official cooperation documents (, Memoranda of Understanding, letters of support) with local partners.Provide timely updates to local stakeholders on project progress and collect feedback to address challenges and requests promptly.Mediate administrative, logistical, and operational issues between IRC and local authorities as needed.Procurement, Inventory, and Logistics
Coordinate the transfer of equipment, materials, and branded products to regional offices and partner organizations, ensuring proper documentation and signing of handover protocols.Organize and monitor the delivery of goods, prepare write-off acts, and manage accompanying documentation.Conduct regular inventories at IRC and partner warehouses, monitor stock levels, and forecast supply needs.Data Management and Reporting
Update and analyze program data dashboards in Power BI or Excel, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting on procurement, stock status, and field activities.Prepare and submit reports to donors and internal teams based on up-to-date data.Team Support and Internal Coordination
Participate in internal projects and collaborate with operational staff from other IRC units.Assist in logistics and administration of seminars, conferences, and team trips.Visit regional offices to monitor and support program implementation.Requirements:
Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, International Development, Economy or related field.At least 3 years of professional experience in community engagement, women’s empowerment, protection, or psychosocial support programs, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.Proven experience working with women and girls, including organizing safe spaces, awareness-raising, or leadership development initiatives.Experience in procurement, inventory tracking, logistics coordination, and basic data analysis.Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Power BI, is a strong asset.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage constructively with diverse stakeholders.Fluency in Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken) is required.Commitment to feminist values, human rights, and principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION
