AR Denials Specialist (Contract)

Mindful Care is seeking an AR Denials Specialist to support our revenue cycle team in Ukraine. This role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving denied and underpaid insurance claims across commercial and government payers. You will be managing assigned accounts receivable inventory, submitting appeals and corrected claims, and collaborating with internal teams to reduce denials and improve overall reimbursement outcomes.

Our AR Denials Specialists:

Denial Review & Resolution:

• Review denied and underpaid claims to determine root cause and appropriate resolution.
• Research payer policies, claim details, and supporting documentation to facilitate accurate appeals and corrections.
• Submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and formal appeals within payer-specific filing deadlines.
• Ensure all claims are followed through to final resolution and payment whenever possible.
• Escalate complex or high-impact denials to management as appropriate.

Accounts Receivable Management:

• Maintain ownership of assigned AR inventory and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims.
• Prioritize accounts based on payer requirements, aging, and reimbursement impact.
• Track and monitor claim status through payer portals, clearinghouses, and billing systems.
• Meet productivity, turnaround, and quality expectations established by the Revenue Cycle team.

Payer Communication & Follow-Up:

• Communicate directly with insurance carriers via payer portals, phone, and written correspondence to resolve denials.
• Request claim reprocessing when appropriate and provide required documentation to support appeals.
• Maintain professional and effective communication with payer representatives to facilitate timely resolution.

Denial Analysis & Prevention:

• Analyze denial trends to identify root causes such as eligibility issues, authorization gaps, coding errors, and timely filing concerns.
• Collaborate with billing, front-end, credentialing, and clinical teams to prevent recurring denials.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve billing accuracy and reduce future denials.

Documentation & Billing System Management:

• Document all follow-up activities, communications, and claim updates accurately and thoroughly in the billing system.
• Ensure proper tracking of appeals, reconsiderations, and claim outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and organized records to support audit readiness and operational transparency.

General Support:

• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform other revenue cycle-related duties as assigned to support the billing and collections process.
  
  

Your Qualifications:

• Fluency in both English and Ukrainian, written and spoken, is required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or denial management.
• Strong understanding of insurance claims, denial codes, appeals processes, and payer requirements.
• Experience working with commercial and government payers.
• Proficiency in medical billing systems, clearinghouses, and payer portals.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and meet productivity expectations in a remote environment.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and consistent remote work setup.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Position Type and Location Requirement:

• Full-Time - 40 hours a week
• 100% Remote
• 1099 Contract
• Applicants must reside in Ukraine.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Training for the first 90 days will be Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm EST (UTC -5) and then (UTC - 4) when we switch to EDT on March 8th 2026.
• After training is complete, employees may work Monday-Friday during standard business hours in their local time zone, aligned with operational needs.
• $6.00/hour USD
