Reporting Lines
Under the overall supervision of the Head of the Office in Ukraine and the direct supervision of the Head of the Resource Mobilization, Planning and Partnerships Unit, and in cooperation with the Heads of Units in FAO Ukraine. The National Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Assistant will be responsible for providing visibility and organizational support to FAO Ukraine to help FAO meet program implementation and resource mobilization goals. The Assistant will support all topics FAO works on in Ukraine, including agriculture, livestock, emergency response and natural resource management.
Technical Focus
The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Assistant will provide the necessary assistance to enable FAO programmes and projects by contributing to resource management in Ukraine.
Tasks and responsibilities
The following tasks are to be elaborated through the assignment:
Resource Mobilization Support:
• Conduct research on potential donors, partners, and funding opportunities, and maintain an up-to-date database of relevant contacts and opportunities.
• Support with the preparation of funding proposals, concept notes, and donor reports, ensuring that they are well-crafted, compelling, and aligned with FAO and donor requirements.
• Contribute to the development and review of FAO Ukraine's strategic funding plans as requested, ensuring that they are consistent with the organization's mission, goals, and priorities.
• Work closely with the communications team to support visibility, including writing social media posts, drafting press releases, and managing presence at events.
• Work closely with program and operations unit on project cycle management steps offline and online in Field Program Management Information System (FPMIS).
• Monitor and report on the budgetary contributions for the main strategic frameworks.
Partnership Management Support:
• Assist in identifying and establishing strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, private sector entities, and other development partners.
• Support and maintain effective and systematic relationships with government and other counterparts, facilitating communication and coordination, and ensuring that partnership agreements are up to date and properly managed.
• Manage databases and lists of partner contacts, activities, and meeting records.
• Draft emails prior to and post partner and donor meetings to support frequent and appropriate communication.
• Write minutes of meetings, circulate, compile, and submit to supervisor.
• Support with translation/interpretation in local language with government partners and local stakeholders.
• Perform any other duties as required by FAO.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in international development, humanitarian affairs, public administration, political science, journalism, mass communications, development communications, or any other relevant field related to the work of the Organization
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in resource mobilization, partnership management, liaison activities or donor relations, preferably in the context of international organizations, NGOs, or development programs.
• Working knowledge (Level C or native) of English and working knowledge (Level C or native) of Ukrainian.

Technical/Functional Skills
• Previous experience with the UN system or relation work for a donor organization, consulting company or NGO is an advantage

• Ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned processes and to work autonomously
