What we are looking for
Experienced Protection Project Manager in complex emergencies, with responsibility for project cycle management, risk management, staff management & development, and grants & budgets management.
Experience of coordination and advocacy work with excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and oral.
What you will be doing
The purpose of the role is to ensure quality programming and coordination for NRC Ukraine Protection from Violence (PfV) programme in East area. Furthermore, the holder of the role will be responsible for mentoring, training, and capacity building of staff on the technical issues related to PfV.
Key responsibilities:
Responsbile for effective and efficient management of PfV projects in East Ukraine consistent with the project management cycle, and safe and inclusive programming,according to strategies, proposals and plans.
Develop annual activity and work plans and manageprojects budgets, this will include contributing to the development and roll out of the Civilian Self-Protection activities.
Supervise, train, mentor, and coach project team on general Protection Case Management and Individual Protection Assistance in line with NRC modalities and standards.
Responsible for managing all phases of the project cycle, grants and budgets. Participate in Project Review Meetings and organise project reviews for PfV team in area and promote/share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities.
Facilitate and supervise regular community participatory processes ., assessments, community workshops and monitoring of the collective sites in coordination with the CCCM cluster.
Provide input for internal and external reporting, both narrative and financial.
Ensure representation in sectoral coordination, clusters and/or working groups relevant to Protection, as well as cooperation with relevant partners and local stakeholders
Ensure implementation of appropriate MEL response, including engaging MEL teams to develop tools and Protection monitoring activities. This includes contributing to capturing lessons learnt on the project methodology and implementation.
Contribute to the establishment and/or strengthening of functional internal and external referral mechanisms, including developing SOPs and case-tracking tools and providing technical support throughout the roll-out phase,
Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements.
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy. Monitor and produce analysis of protection risks and engage with other protection actors, including other PfV teams in NRC, to address risks at the community level.
What you will bring
A relevant university degree.
At least 3 years of field experience working as a Protection Project Manager in complex emergencies, with responsibility for project cycle management, risk management, staff management & development, and grants & budgets management.
Experience in logistics/administration management.
Experience of coordination and advocacy work.
Excellent communication and reporting skills, both written and oral.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Valid driver’s license
Context/specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Knowledge of the context in Ukraine
Knowledge of local languages (Ukrainian and Russian)
Goal orientation.
Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
Willingness to work in demanding, stressful situations under difficult living conditions with respect for security rules and procedures.
Problem solving and willingness/ability to contribute to logistics.
Flexibility, creativity, and cooperation.

Duty station: Dnipro – East Aarea Office with linked field offices
Contract: End of 2026 with possibility of extension.
Travel: 40% travel to field locations.
Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC's grading structure.
