Role: Temporary (6 months)

 

Financial Accounting Manager (Temporary)

 

This role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards. Supports statutory reporting, audits, and documentation of complex accounting processes while maintaining strong internal controls. Work closely with all business functions to ensure data integrity and compliance to JTI policies as well as regulatory requirements. Managing continuous improvement projects relevant for the activities in the team (including requirements analysis, testing and change management). Liaise with other teams in the organization plus Corporate Finance teams such as Corporate Accounting and R2R Competency Center to ensure that processes are standardized and are in line with local FRS, IFRS and Global Tobacco Accounting requirements.

 

As the Financial Accounting Manager in the area of Finance, you will: 

 

Core Deliverables

Manage complex financial accounting tasks, including but not limited to financial reporting and general ledger reconciliationsEnsuring that processes are performed in alignment with global policies such as Global Tobacco Accounting manual and compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirementsManage and support statutory reporting requirements to ensure compliance with local laws and regulationsExecute month end and year end close activities accurately and on time in accordance with the Global Closing ScheduleSupport internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentations, process overviews, etc. as requiredDeliver comprehensive financial analysis and insights, and develop KPI dashboards to drive informed decision-makingCollaborate with cross functional teams to improve accounting and finance processes

 

Controls and Compliance

Accountable for the understanding and execution of internal controls related to the processes in scope in accordance with local and global guidelinesWork together with the Internal Controls Manager to ensure mitigating actions are in place for each failure and "lessons learned" are analyzed and shared with the broader finance team

 

Documentation

Ensure proper documentation and retention of financial records in line with company policy and regulatory standardsOwnership and maintenance of detailed documentation (standard operating procedures) for the activities in scope and ensure these are kept up to date so that activities are executed in line with business requirementsEnsure the regular review and update of process documentation is conducted (user manuals and process flow)Changes should be properly assessed and aligned with relevant stakeholders

 

Team Performance and Development (Though the role is an individual contributor, this is good to have as well)

Achieve the established targets and KPIsDrive process improvement within the teamsInitiate engagement activities to maintain team motivationTake a leading role in team members developmentPlan employees development in line with their personal and professional skills and career aspirationsMonitor the development progress and make necessary correctionsBe a coach in developing employees' professional skills and competencies, support them in achieving established development goalsProvide constructive feedback on a regular basis, and encourage team members to provide feedback to the manager

 

Process Improvement and Efficiencies

Constantly review all processes with a view to improve efficiency, quality of output and financial controlProvide support to continuous improvement projects

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Higher Education in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business AdministrationProfessional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, CIMA, ACCA) is desirableAt least 5 years of experience in accounting/financial reporting in a large multi-national organization in a managerial or supervisory role, with international experience preferredFMCG experience is desirableBe open minded, positive thinking and see the opportunities for changeFlexible attitude and quickly reacts and adapts to changing requirementsManage multiple deliverables and project supportIFRS knowledge and strong understanding of IFRS reporting requirements Proficiency in accounting software (Odoo and SAP) and Microsoft Suite application especially Excel and Power PointFluent in Burmese and strong English both oral and writing is a must
