Major/Essential Functions

Maintain, support & install TTUHSC Network, audio-visual, and conferencing infrastructureFacilitates AV/IT projects on the Abilene CampusMaintain Technical Skills and knowledgeConfigure & maintain all network and AV equipment and related serversDetect & diagnose telecommunication systems and component malfunctions/failures, and work with service providers to ensure timely service restorationsPrototyping, testing, and certifying communication processes and servicesPosition will require a strong ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectivesExercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities Establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, HSC staff and students

Preferred Qualifications

Experience successfully leading telecommunications and/or audio-visual projects from planning through implementation and completion Proven ability to perform network and equipment installations across diverse facilities and environmentsExperience working in IT within higher education, healthcare, or government institutions Knowledge of or experience working in the Texas Permian Basin region, including an understanding of regional infrastructure challenges and industry needs. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote and distributed team members across multiple locationsSelf-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive projects forward with minimal supervisionStrong troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills in complex network and Audio-visual environments Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver network solutions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related areas plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience.OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed.
In accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.
