Job Summary
The QA Engineer IIis responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and usability of complex software applications through structured manual testing and analysis of system behavior. This role goes beyond executing test cases by identifying edge cases, validating complex business logic, and proactively uncovering defects before they reach production. The role ensures product quality by designing effective test scenarios, identifying defects in application workflows and business logic, and collaborating with engineering teams to resolve issues prior to release.
This role operates independently within an Agile development environment, translating requirements into test coverage, validating complex workflows and data interactions, and ensuring features meet defined acceptance criteria and quality standards. The QA Engineer II works closely with Product, Business Analysts, and Engineering teams to understand requirements, validate functionality, and provide insight into potential risks and user experience improvements. This role plays a critical part in protecting product quality by detecting subtle defects in complex workflows, calculations, and data scenarios.
Responsibilities
Test Design and Validation
Design and execute manual test scenarios for application features, integrations, and workflows to ensure functional accuracy and system reliability.Translate product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria into structured test plans and test cases.Validate complex business logic, calculations, and data interactions to ensure system outputs align with expected behavior.Defect Identification and Quality Assurance
Identify, reproduce, and document software defects with clear root-cause evidence and reproducible steps.Investigate edge cases, workflow exceptions, and data inconsistencies that may not be covered by standard test scenarios.Validate defect resolutions and confirm fixes meet expected functional and quality requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Engineers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage aligns with intended product functionality.Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to support release quality.Provide structured feedback on usability and workflow improvements identified during testing.Release Readiness and Risk Identification
Review CI/CD pipeline results and assist in diagnosing test failures and product defects.Identify testing gaps, quality risks, and potential release issues based on product behavior and system interactions.Ensure features meet acceptance criteria and defined quality standards prior to deployment.Requirements

3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance or manual testing Experience testing applications involving complex workflows, calculations, or data validationPreferred Qualifications
Experience testing financial or data-intensive systemsFamiliarity with risk-based testing approachesExperience providing usability feedback during product developmentEducation/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
