ROLE PURPOSE:
The Case Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, managing, and implementing Save the Children’s child protection and case management programs in Mykolaiv. Under the supervision of the CP & MHPSS Program Manager and technical guidance of the Case Management Technical Advisor and Child Protection Technical Specialists, the coordinator ensures high-quality, effective, and efficient child protection responses. The role includes direct implementation, partner monitoring, and technical support to caseworkers. The coordinator is also responsible for strengthening the Ukrainian child protection system, ensuring capacity-building, developing response mechanisms, and providing oversight of service provision, referrals, and case management processes.

Program Management and Implementation:
Plan, design, and implement child protection and case management programs in alignment with Save the Children’s strategy and the general CP sector plan. Develop work plans, ensure timely program delivery, and track progress against objectives. Coordinate closely with implementing partners, government officials, and other humanitarian actors to strengthen the child protection response. Establish and implement a detailed plan for child protection interventions, including case management and psychosocial support (PSS). Ensure services such as Family Tracing and Reunification (FTR), alternative care, and psychosocial support are effectively implemented.Case Management Supervision and Coordination:
Supervise and manage caseworkers in providing holistic child protection services, including identification, registration, care planning, referrals, direct service provision, and case closure. Ensure adherence to Case Management Guidelines, Child Protection Minimum Standards, and Core Humanitarian Principles. Conduct case file audits, supervise case planning and monitoring, and ensure cases are managed efficiently. Promote alternative family-based care for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC) and oversee the foster care system. Maintain updated service mapping for referrals and coordinate with external service providers.Quality Assurance and Capacity Building:
Develop tools to assess vulnerabilities of children and strengthen case management systems. Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s policies, procedures, and donor requirements. Conduct training and mentoring for staff and partners on child protection, case management, and PSS. Ensure effective accountability mechanisms for children and communities, including feedback and complaints mechanisms.Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
Ensure robust monitoring and evaluation systems are in place for child protection and case management programs. Work with the MEAL team to track and analyze program data to inform decision-making. Prepare high-quality donor and internal reports, ensuring accurate documentation of case management services.External Coordination and Advocacy:
Represent Save the Children at coordination meetings, including the Child Protection Sub-Sector (CPSS) and other inter-agency working groups. Build partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and community networks. Advocate for child protection policies and systemic improvements within government and humanitarian sectors.Staff Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and support child protection and case management staff, ensuring performance management and professional development. Promote staff well-being and access to support services. Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered to and provide training on child safeguarding.Administrative and Budget Management:
Support budget planning and tracking for child protection activities. Oversee procurement and administrative processes related to program implementation.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, child rights, or related field. Minimum - years of progressively advanced experience in child protection, case management, or related fields in humanitarian settings. Experience in leading teams and working with partners and government stakeholders. Strong knowledge of child protection principles, case management processes, and psychosocial support. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in challenging environments. Experience in project management, reporting, and budget tracking. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools. Fluency in English and Ukrainian.Desirable:
Previous experience in emergency settings or working with displaced children. Experience in providing capacity-building and training for caseworkers and child protection professionals. Familiarity with Save the Children’s child safeguarding policies and humanitarian principles.Safeguarding:
