We are searching for a Senior Android Engineer in Colombia for mobile development initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for day to day development, maintenance, code reviews of advanced Android applications, while also performing highly in a team of talented developers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Android development, a deep understanding of mobile application architecture, and a strong track record of successful project contributions.

Responsibilities:

Development and implementation of complex Android application features, ensuring dedication, quality, and responsiveness of the applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to define app features, architecture, and technology stackCollaborate with other iOS and mobile engineering teams on common components, and cross domain functionalityWrite high-quality, maintainable, testable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and industry standardsWrite tests and perform debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and reliabilityKeep up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and technologies, actively learning and continuous improvement of skillsConduct code reviews, and offer constructive feedback to team membersResolve complex technical issues and challenges reported by users or identified during testing

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong portfolio of sophisticated, widely-used appsExpertise in Kotlin and Java, MVVM architecture, and extensive experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Compose and other relevant frameworksIn-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON to connect Android applications to back-end servicesIn-depth knowledge of dependency injectionSolid understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelinesExperience with cloud message APIs, push notifications, and mobile analyticsProficiency with version control tools such as Git, and familiarity with CI/CD practicesExceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking capabilitiesExcellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong familiarity with Agile development methodologiesWorking with GraphQL based servicesExperience in e-commerce or similar high-traffic, consumer-facing applications
