Background
iMMAP Inc. provides information management and capacity strengthening services to humanitarian and development actors. In Ukraine, iMMAP Inc. supports national mine action authorities, government institutions, and implementing partners in strengthening their information management systems and institutional capacities for humanitarian mine action in line with IMAS standards.
The Project Manager will oversee the design and implementation of a program that combines technical capacity building, advanced information management (IMO level), and strong alignment with national Mine Action priorities.

Description of Duties
Project Management
Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities supporting Ukraine’s National Mine Action Program.Ensure objectives are achieved within required timeframe and budget.Maintain close coordination with donors, government institutions, and mine action operators.Produce timely progress reports in line with iMMAP and donor requirements.Capacity Building
Develop and implement a capacity building strategy for project beneficiaries.Deliver training in Survey123, ArcGIS Pro (including ModelBuilder and extensions), ArcGIS Enterprise, and related IM tools.Support development and delivery of Training of Trainers (ToT) for national authorities’ staff to enhance internal training capacity.Coordinate and deliver advanced training in GIS and related information management systems.Build and support the capacity of iMMAP national staff in GIS and information management.Information Management (IM/GIS)
Lead rollout and customization of IMSMA Core for the National Mine Action Program.Ensure integration of geospatial analysis and mapping into mine action planning and prioritization.Establish and maintain QA/QC mechanisms and data governance standards.Provide IMO-level technical guidance and advisory to national authorities and operators.Support development of dashboards, analytical reports, and geoprocessing models to strengthen decision-making.Mine Action Focus
Ensure alignment of all IM and capacity building activities with IMAS and Ukrainian mine action legislation.Provide technical input for survey, clearance, and risk education planning.Coordinate with the Mine Action Cluster, government, and donors to harmonize approaches.Contribute to the development of national mine action policies, SOPs, and training curricula.Staff Management
Supervise IM/GIS and training teams; set roles and responsibilities, and conduct performance evaluations.Support recruitment and onboarding of project staff.Provide coaching and ensure adequate training for team members.Monitoring & Evaluation
Actively contribute to the learning process of the project, in close coordination with the Country Representative and iMMAP Headquarters.Security
In coordination with the Country Representative and Security Advisor, ensure project staff comply with security protocols.Accountability to Beneficiaries
Support iMMAP’s accountability standards and promote engagement of beneficiary communities in project design, monitoring, and evaluation.Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Geographic Information Systems, International Development, or a related field.Specialized training in Mine Action (IMAS, IMSMA) .Experience
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in provision of Information Management and GIS technical support.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management.Demonstrated experience in capacity building projects, including development and delivery of IM/GIS training packages.Experience in data processing and analysis, including data QA/QC processes and relational database queries (SQL).In depth knowledge and experience in the application of GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and QGIS.Experience and knowledge of software engineering and programming language theory would be an advantage.Experience with IMSMA Core or similar mine action IM systems is highly desirable.Experience in the Mine Action sector is a strong advantage.Basic knowledge of back-end languages and frameworks (such as C#, Java, and Python) is a plus.Experience in data QA/QC processes and geospatial analysis.Proven and well-developed influencing and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at different levels.Skills
Advanced knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, QGIS).SStrong analytical skills, and skilled at turning abstract discussions into concrete ideas.Ability to develop and deliver training in IM/GIS.Proven team management and leadership skills.Ability to develop and carry out work plans and solve problems independently.Ability to perform well on tight deadlines, flexible attitude.Ability to recruit, develop and lead IM/GIS staff.Ability to work based on objectives.Fluency in English is required. Spoken Ukrainian/ Russian skills are asset.Knowledge of computer applications, including proficiency in MS Office including data visualization tools.Guiding Principles
