We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Data Engineer with strong Python skillsto join our international AI & Data team at Deloitte. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about cloud data platforms and eager to build cutting-edge analytical solutions. You will work remotely from Ukraine as part of a global team, helping clients harness the power of Snowflake for data-driven decision making and seamless integration with external systems.

What do we expect from you?

Key Requirements

Experience: 5-6+ years of hands-on technical experience in data engineering or software development (including significant experience with Snowflake).

Snowflake Expertise: Proficiency in Snowflake data warehouse concepts - designing schemas, writing advanced SQL, performance tuning, and managing Snowflake resources.

API Integration: Proven ability to develop and consume RESTful APIs for integrating Snowflake with third-party providers and external data sources.

Data Pipelines: Experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines and workflows (e.g. using SQL, Python or relevant tools) to extract, transform, and load data from various sources. Hands-on experience with Docker containers.

Technical Skills: Solid programming skills in at least one language (preferably Python) for data processing; good understanding of relational databases and data modeling.

Communication: Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency - you will use English daily in our international projects.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a collaborative team-oriented mindset. Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly.

As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions on the Snowflake platform. In this role, you will:

Design & Implement Solutions: Design, implement, and optimize data solutions using Snowflake - including setting up data warehouses, defining data models, and developing efficient SQL queries and Snowflake objects to meet business requirements.

Build Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Snowflake. This includes writing SnowSQL or Python scripts and using Snowflake features (such as Snowpipe or Tasks) to load and process structured and semi-structured data at scale.

API Development: Build and expose APIs or data integration services to enable seamless data exchange between Snowflake and external systems. Ensure that third-party providers can securely send data to or retrieve data from our platform through well-designed RESTful endpoints.

Data Integration & Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and other engineers to integrate data from multiple sources (internal and external) into Snowflake. Ensure the data is consolidated, consistent, and readily available for analytics and reporting needs.

Quality & Security: Implement best practices for data governance, quality control, and security within Snowflake. Monitor pipeline performance and data accuracy, and troubleshoot any issues to ensure reliability of the data platform.

Client Engagement: In a consulting environment, collaborate with clients to understand their data challenges and requirements. Translate business needs into technical solutions on Snowflake, and guide clients through best practices in cloud data warehousing.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and operational runbooks for the Snowflake solutions you develop. This ensures knowledge sharing and smooth handover of solutions to clients or support teams.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest features of Snowflake and related data technologies. Proactively recommend improvements and innovative approaches (for example, new Snowflake capabilities or integration tools) to enhance solution performance and value.
